For more than 20 years, Mark Arts has hosted the Eastern Kansas Region of the Scholastic Art Awards, which is part of the Scholastic Writing & Art Awards, the longest-running and most prestigious recognition program in the U.S. for creative teens. This year, there were 1,630 submissions from students across 70 counties entering 18 categories. Of these entries, 509 were awarded Honorable Mention, Silver Key, Gold Key and American Vision nominations. Artworks honored with Silver Key nominations and 3D Gold Key nominations, the latter of which will proceed to the national competition, are on display in the School of Creativity Gallery.
