Beginners will start by learning the fundamentals of acrylic painting, including color mixing and a variety of application techniques. The course also introduces key concepts such as perspective, proportion, and color theory. With guided instruction, students will select their own subject matter for their paintings. A range of creative painting styles will be explored to inspire personal expression. Intermediate students will expand on the foundational skills acquired at the beginner level. BEYOND THE BRUSH
Painting is traditionally done with brushes of different sizes, shapes, and bristle type. We are going to explore making art with unconventional tools. CHARCOAL AND PASTEL FOR BEGINNERS

Students can expect to learn how to fold different origami patterns. We will go over some basic paper sculpture techniques which include creating paper flowers using crepe paper. Also, students will learn how to make simple booklets and then more complicated bookmaking techniques.

Let’s take color down to the very basics. If you struggle to mix the color you desire or have never mixed any color ever, we will take the color wheel down to the primaries without sacrificing saturation – a limited palette with unlimited color.
