Culinary Arts: Knead to Know: Junior Chef Academy with Jamelah Kauffman

Knead to Know is a hands-on cooking experience for 5th–7th graders who are ready to go beyond boxed mac and frozen pizza. Each day builds on the last — students won't just learn recipes, they'll learn how to think in the kitchen.

We start with kitchen basics, safety, and baking on the first day and to show case their own creativity. By the end of the week, they'll have made a from-scratch cheese sauce, tacos and pizza rolls — and learn the technique of making a simple ganache that goes great with a variety of desserts. Samples of their dessert and snack creations will get sent home for family to sample and so their excitement and confidence for each day builds.
