Description: Students will learn the basics of drawing what they see using three-dimensional still-lifes as subjects. This course will cover a range of topics: from how to delineate shapes based on contour and negative space, how perspective and eye level affect shapes we see, and how to shade based on shape, edge, and light condition. This course is meant for beginners and is intended to lead students from the most simple still-life, cubes, to gradually more complex forms. The last still-life will include 2-3 common household objects.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY BASICS

Students will learn how to create various digital art-based projects via easily accessible software. Students will learn photo retouching, photo-manipulation, and digital collage using PhotoPea. Students will learn the basics of vector illustration using Inkscape. Lastly, students will learn the basics of layout design for print media such as business cards and posters using Canva.

Understand the foundation of constructing the human figure. Student work will cover gesture drawing, methods of measurement and basic anatomy. Students will learn from start to finish how to construct the foundation of a successful figure drawing. DRAWING ENDANGERED SPECIES

Learn how to draw the following endangered species: elephants, humpback whales, lions, wolves, and bald eagles. Using various mediums, charcoal and graphite pencils, oil pastels and colored pencils, students will learn drawing and painting techniques while also learning about endangered species.
