Make Your Mark Workshops

These one-night introductory workshops don’t require any experience or supplies.  Those 21 and older are welcome
to bring their bottled beverage of choice, and we will provide the glasses. Advance registration is required.

$40 –Become immersed in an abstract garden inspired by Matisse‘s giant paper cut-outs.

PAPER MARBLING

June 15 | 7  – 9 p.m.

Instructor: Doug Billings

$40 – Learn how to marble paper with six different patterns – ripple, swirl, the traditional marble pattern and more! Your finished papers can be displayed as finished pieces or even be used for other art projects.

VINEYARD PAINTING IN THE STYLE OF DAVID HOCKNEY

June 16 | 7  – 9 p.m.

Instructor: Charlotte Patterson

$40 – In this class, students will paint a vibrant vineyard in the style of David Hockney. You’re welcome to bring a bottle of wine as well!

$40 – Art and math collide in this workshop! Develop your own stencil to create a repetitive across your canvas.

INTRO TO INTAGLIO PRINTING: TURN YOUR SKETCHES INTO PRINTS!

July 20 | 7  – 9 p.m.

Instructor: Doug Billings

$40 – Perfect for people who love to draw — students will learn how to draw into a plastic plate using an etching needle. Then they will ink and print the plate to create a dry point intaglio print. It’s a great way to make multiples of one drawing. If you have sketches you’d like to re-create, bring them along!

INTRO TO MONO-PRINTING: FREESTYLE!

August 17  | 7  – 9 p.m.

Instructor: Doug Billings

$40 – Participants will learn to create multi-colored monoprints by applying different colored inks onto the surface of plexiglass plates. Each color will be a inked independently and printed on top of each other to create a layered effect. This process created a textured, painterly, abstract image—perfect for those who prefer to work spontaneously!

KANSAS SUNFLOWER IN THE STYLE OF TAKASHI MURAKAMI

August 25 | 7  – 9 p.m.

Instructor: Charlotte Patterson

$40 – Paint a cheery sunflower in the whimsical style of Takashi Murakami. Your painting won’t be able to stop smiling, and neither will you!
