$40 – Learn how to carve, ink and print a relief print from a 4 x 6 Linoleum Plate. Participants are encouraged to bring in a 4 x 6 black & white image/drawing/sketch; that can then be transferred to the Linoleum. PAPER FLOWERS WORKSHOP - SIDE BY SIDE

POTTER'S WHEEL TROUBLE SHOOTING

Having trouble centering or pulling up the walls? Maybe you worry you’ve plateaued and need a little push to get over that hill. This workshop is for all skill levels, beginner to advanced, with some wheel experience required. Students will learn to diagnose, fix and improve their wheel throwing skills. Troy will work with students to overcome common struggles, bad habits and explain the mechanics of mud so you can throw the pots you envision in your head (eventually).
Clay will be provided. Bring your own tools and towel. No pots will be kept or fired unless you are enrolled in the following session.

ALTERNATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY

This workshop will go over the alternative photography technique of making cyanotype photograms. A cyanotype is a non-toxic camera-less photographic process that produces a cyan-blue print using UV light. Botanicals, stencils, or other objects are placed on top of a sheet of photo sensitive paper and exposed to sunlight. The areas hit with direct sunlight turn a dark blue color, whereas areas that were blocked during exposure remain paper white.
This workshop will cover the process of preparing cyanotype paper and use different materials to produce a photogram or contact print. Batches of precoated cyanotype paper will be supplied and after a brief demonstration of exposing participants will create a small series of cyanotype prints. Participants will also learn how to bleach and tone their cyanotypes to create different color prints.

METAL ETCHING WORKSHOP

Explore surface textures and embellishments while learning the basics of metal etching. Students will apply designs to copper, brass and nickel then use a chemical to etch the metal. Etched pieces will be cut and assembled using a cold connection technique to create a beautiful, unique piece of jewelry.
