Kansas Watercolor Society National Exhibition and Mark Arts 100th Birthday Party

Friday, November 20 | 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Juror David Smith of Minnesota has selected more than 70 exquisite works created in this challenging and fluid medium. You will be wowed by the inspiring subject matter and mastery of technique displayed at this perennial favorite of Wichita collectors and art appreciators.

Mark Arts is also celebrating its centennial on November 20. Mark Arts had its beginnings November 20, 1920, when 24 Wichitans gathered at a pivotal dinner party. The next month, 100 art lovers dined at the Hotel Lassen and officially launched the Wichita Art Association, the city’s oldest cultural institution. In celebration of 100 years of tenacity and transformation as an artistic hub, we invite you to visit Mark Arts throughout the day and take home a complimentary commemorative historical booklet.

Tune into Facebook Live at 5:30 p.m. on November 20 for the sealing of a time capsule. Advance registration is required to tour the Gladys and Karl T. Wiedemann Gallery. Attendance will be limited based on public health recommendations.
