Sculpture classes are for both beginners and experienced artists. The focus is the study of the human figure through clay. This fall, students will model the head in clay. Areas of emphasis include how to perceive the human figure and how to create expressions. Time will be spent on emphasizing bringing life to the sculpture through gesture, movement, mood and expression in addition to important art history lessons. The class will work with water-based clay. Supplies will be discussed on the first day of class. Just bring an apron if you don’t want to get messy!
