Sculpture classes are for both beginners and experienced artists. The focus is creating figurative, representational, and non-representational forms in clay. Areas of emphasis include building techniques, glaze processes, non-fired painting techniques, and finding your own personal style in clay. Time will be spent on exploring the elements and principles of design, contemporary artist influences, and art history. The class will work with water-based clay. MINIMALIST SCULPTURE
This course teaches the assemblage of organic materials – such as sticks, paper, fabric, and yarn – to create abstract sculptures. Students can expect to become comfortable experimenting with organic materials, creating sculptures that may be temporary or unresolved, working with mythological and personal themes, and to become familiar with artists working in this way.

ALTERNATIVE FIRING TECHNIQUES
This class explores alternative firing processes such as Raku and low-fire salt fuming. These styles of firing give unpredictable but exciting results with hands-on experience of the firing process. All skill levels are welcome.

BEGINNING SCULPTURE
From masks to molds, students will learn a variety of sculpting techniques in this introductory course. Realistic, stylized and abstract sculpting methods are all demonstrated in this class so that students can explore and develop their artistic voice.
