The health of our visitors is our top priority. Facial coverings are requested to be worn by individuals who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Youth who are not vaccinated should continue to wear facial coverings. Vaccinated individuals are required to wear face coverings if they are within six feet of any other individual. Charlotte Sculpting

SCULPTURE FOR ALL SKILL LEVELS (TUESDAYS)

Sculpture classes are for both beginners and experienced artists. In this session, the focus is on the human form. However, students are welcome to create what they would like. Areas of emphasis include how to perceive the human figure and how to create expressions. Time will be spent on emphasizing bringing life to the sculpture through gesture, movement, mood and expression in addition to important art history lessons. The class will work with water-based clay. Supplies will be discussed on the first day of class. Just bring an apron if you don’t want to get messy!

Nonmember Price: $200 | Member Price: $180

Session 2 enrollment is open. You do not have to attend a Session 1 class to enroll for Session 2, it is a repeat of the same course not an continuation.

WEDNESDAY SCULPTURE (WEDNESDAYS)

Ceramics & Sculpture Drop-in Open Studio

Fridays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Open Studio is available for free weekly for students currently enrolled in a clay class this semester.
If you are not currently enrolled Open Studio is available for $25 per session.

Students in classes that run the full 7 weeks will need a ceramics kit, which may be purchased for $21.50 on the first day of class. Tuition includes glazes & firing. Clay is available for purchase.

ALTERNATIVE FIRING TECHNIQUES

This class explores alternative firing processes such as Raku and low-fire salt fuming. These styles of firing give unpredictable but exciting results with hands-on experience of the firing process. All skill levels are welcome.

BEGINNING SCULPTURE

From masks to molds, students will learn a variety of sculpting techniques in this introductory course. Realistic, stylized and abstract sculpting methods are all demonstrated in this class so that students can explore and develop their artistic voice.
