This course is designed for both beginners and advanced students. Projects will be tailored to ability levels and student interests, with demonstrations in jewelry design, soldering, bezel setting, raising and other concepts that advance personal style in the art of metalsmithing.

Explore the basic techniques for fabricating jewelry and decorative pieces through demonstrations and hands-on projects. Students will learn to make a silver ring, links for a bracelet or necklace, metal techniques, textures, bezel stone setting, soldering and more. The instructor will review materials required for projects in class. Students can expect to complete 5-6 projects during a session with material cost ranging from $5-$10 per project.

Enameling: the transformation of simple glass and metal to a piece of jewelry or decoration. Learn how two very different substances can be combined to make beautiful pieces of jewelry, dishes, wall decor and more as we engage in the centuries-old art of enameling.

Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 9 a.m. – noon
Enameling students Open Studio hours
Fridays 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & Saturdays 1 – 4 p.m.
Students who have previously taken classes (regular session or bootcamp) may drop-in for an open studio on a space-available basis for $25;
it is highly recommended that a reservation is made in advance to ensure that there will be room as space is limited.
Drop-ins must check in at the front desk prior to entering the studio.
