An introductory drawing class focusing on foundations and observational techniques. This class is ideas for those who are new to drawing or haven’t drawn in a while. In addition to class projects, your instructor will demonstrate exercises you can use to hone your skills outside of class.

Description: Students will learn the basics of drawing what they see using three-dimensional still-lifes as subjects. This course will cover a range of topics: from how to delineate shapes based on contour and negative space, how perspective and eye level affect shapes we see, and how to shade based on shape, edge, and light condition. This course is meant for beginners and is intended to lead students from the most simple still-life, cubes, to gradually more complex forms. The last still-life will include 2-3 common household objects.

Social Media Photography will educate students on basic photography for integrating into and using social media platforms with technology in the digital form. This course will cover structure utilizing your camera /phone camera at a basic knowledge level for all beginners. This course will focus on the basic principles of photography with an emphasis for social media including influencers/small business and marketing direction to capture moments & images beautifully and aesthetically pleasing to the eye while covering a fundamental foundation of photography for these directions.

Students will learn from start to finish how to construct the foundation of a successful figure drawing.
