
BEGINNING CERAMICS
This session is for those who are new to ceramics. Students will learn the basic steps for creating handmade, functional pottery: throwing, trimming, glazing, firing and handbuilding. All tools and clay will be provided for this class. Class is limited to six new students.

HANDBUILDING
Learn handbuilding techniques such as coiling, pinching and slab building to create unique sculptures or functional dishware. Students work at their own pace in a relaxed social atmosphere.

This class mixes beginning students with the experienced and ranges from the basic steps for creating functional pottery to advanced techniques for artistic sculptural vessels. Students work at their own pace in a friendly atmosphere with plenty of individual instruction.

CERAMICS INDEPENDENT STUDY
Students will work on individually driven projects with instructor guidance. This collaborative environments allows students to share ideas, techniques and learned skills with fellow experienced students. This class is for intermediate and advanced students.

ALTERNATIVE FIRING TECHNIQUES
This class explores alternative firing processes such as Raku and low-fire salt fuming. These styles of firing give unpredictable but exciting results with hands-on experience of the firing process. All skill levels are welcome.

SATURDAY WHEEL THROWING

Ceramics Drop-in Open Studio
Fridays, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Open Studio is available for free weekly for students currently enrolled in a clay class this semester.
If you are not currently enrolled Open Studio is available for $25 per session.
Students in classes that run the full 7 weeks will need a ceramics kit, which may be purchased for $21.50 on the first day of class.
Intro class students will use a classroom supply of clay and tools. Tuition includes glazes, firing, first 25 pounds of clay.
