Each color will be inked independently and printed on top of each other to create a layered effect. $80 – In this 3-hour Ukrainian egg decorating workshop, students will learn the traditional art of pysanka, a wax-resist method of dyeing eggs that dates back centuries. Led by instructor Svitlana Tararuk, participants will be guided through the process of creating two beautifully designed eggs using the pysanka style. Students will get a step-by-step demonstration of the techniques involved and will, then, have the opportunity to experiment with different colors and designs as they craft intricate designs of their own. By the end of the class, each student will have two unique and stunning pysanky to take home as a cherished handmade keepsake.

Students will decorate pre-enameled copper disks with solid backgrounds. Embellishments choices will include enamel threads, chunks, millefiori, paints, stencils, and rubber stamps. The instructor will cut out and enamel background colors on the disks ahead of time for students. Students will build their pieces and learn to kiln fire them.
